           I found this very nice, Lady GaGa on pointe shoes :) well I always thought  
           somehow she would put on a pair of satin shoes and stand on them. I always
          thought GaGa would be a good dancer. She's expressive, she has the dancer
           "charm", and if she could perform her hit music video "Telephone" feat. Beyonce,
          then she can at least do the Dying Swan. But she went into the music world and
            became as famous as can be! Rihanna also followed the footsteps of wearing
          pointe shoes in her music video, "Umbrella" feat. Jay.Z (she wasn't on pointe
            like Sylvie Guillem , but its still on pointe, below is a picture of her with black
          pointe shoes (Rihanna, not Sylvie)

Movie review: The Wizard of OZ 1939

Wizard of OZ 1939

Directed by Victor Fleming, this is a classic that would be known for centuries is about a girl named Dorothy (Judy Garland) that is always daydreaming and longs for "a place where there isn't any trouble". She lives with her Auntie Em and Uncle Henry and along with farmhands. One Kansas day a tornado emerged. From a crashed window Dorothy passes out, and soon gets into a sleep that starts with a very adventured dream! Based on the 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of OZ   by L. Frank Baum. Featuring Judy Garland as Dorothy Gale, Frank Morgan as the Wizard, Ray Bolger as the Scarecrow, Bert Lahr as the Cowardly Lion, Jack Haley as the Tinman, Billie Burke as Glinda, Margaret Hamilton as the Wicked Witch, Charles Grapewin as Uncle Henry, Clara Blandick as Auntie Em and Terry who played Toto. The rumor is that Toto was stuffed and auctioned for $3,680. This was the most challenging classic musical film ever made in the 1930s and it is the most watched film in history! The song "Over the rainbow" received the Academy Award For Best Original Song. Even though it is based by the children's novel, it does have some differences from the book. Some versions the red ruby slippers are glass slippers, and some Wizard of OZ stories have a a mouse queen being chased by a cat, but its the best film and has many great effects and full of live still very famous today.

Okay, so now i went my travels from India, to Paris, the city of lights. Paris is so beautiful, its my favorite City/Country in the whole wide world (Except maybe Germany, Maybe) So, of course like India, it has facts:

It is situated on the river Seine, in northern France, at the heart of the Île-de-France region (also known as the "Paris Region"; French: Région parisienne). The city of Paris, within its administrative limits largely unchanged since 1860, has an estimated population of 2,203,817 (January 2006),^[5] but the Paris aire urbaine (or metropolitan area) has a population of 11,769,433 (January 2006),^[4] and is one of the most populated metropolitan areas in Europe.^[6

• During World War I, Paris was at the forefront of the war effort, having been spared a German invasion by the French and British victory at the First Battle of the Marne in 1914. (OK, Before i start, i'm starting a Polyvore Trip, i'm not actually traveling around the world, i'm traveling on the Internet)

Okay, so my first Trip is India, the land of spices. (On the set above i'm the
one in white) India actually has alot of Fun Facts in it, as its also steeped in
history. Did you know seventh-largest country by geographical area? And did
you know India's official national sport is field hockey, administered by the Indian Hockey Federation.

Barbie: A doll, or a lifestyle?

I've been wondering as I've been looking at Barbie pictures, and there is Barbie
mansions (Yes, actual houses with lots of pink), Buildings with pictures of
Barbie plastered everywhere and gift shops and spas, she's been in Nordstrom
in the beauty department and M.A.C makeup stores, shes been everywhere.
But what puzzles me is it a doll, or a lifestyle? Because everywhere you see, there
she is! I have to say, i am a fan of Barbie, but still, why is she plastered everywhere?
And how did it happen?

(Barbie is a fashion doll manufactured by the
American toy-company Mattel, Inc. and launched in March 1959. American businesswoman Ruth Handler (1916-2002) is credited with the creation of the doll using a German doll called Bild Lilli as her inspiration.)
And, i'm German (99% German) So yeah that makes me happy about it was inspired
by the German doll, Bild Lilli. In fact, Barbie looks like Bild Lilli:
I love the Bild Lilli doll, it looks very elegant, it shows what German women really
look like. And basically, Barbie was copying Bild Lilli, if Barbie wasn't invented,
Bild Lilli would be very popular now (Not saying that i hate Barbie!!)

(The Bild Lilli Doll was a German fashion doll produced from 1955 to 1964, based on the comic-strip character Lilli. She is the predecessor of Barbie. In the beginning Lilli was a German cartoon character, created by Reinhard Beuthien for the tabloid Bild-Zeitung in Hamburg, Germany. In 1953 the Bild-Zeitung decided to market a Lilli doll and contacted Max Weissbrodt from the toy company O&M Hausser in Neustadt/Coburg, Germany. Following Beuthien's drawings Weissbrodt designed the prototype of the doll which was on sale from 1955 to 1964 when Mattel acquired the rights to the doll so the German production had to stop. Until then production numbers reached 130,000. Today Lilli is a collector's piece as Barbie is, and commands prices of several thousand Euros, dependant on condition, packaging and clothes.)

So what i wonder if everyone still knows about the comic strip Lilli?

(Reinhard Beuthien was ordered to make a "filler" to conceal a blank space in the Bild-Zeitung of June 24, 1952. He drew a cute baby, but his boss didn't like it. So he kept the face, added a ponytail and a curvy woman's body and called his creation "Lilli". She sat in a fortune-teller's tent asking: "Can't you tell me the name and address of this rich and handsome man?" The cartoon was an immediate success so Beuthien had to draw new ones each day.

Lilli was post-war, sassy and ambitious and had no reservations talking about it. As she had her own job she earned her own money as a secretary but wasn't above hanging out with rich men ("I could do without balding old men but my budget couldn't!"). The cartoon always consisted of a picture of Lilli talking to girlfriends, boyfriends, her boss ("As you were angry when I was late this morning I will leave the office at five p.m. sharp!"). The quips underneath the cartoons handled topics ranging from fashion (to a policeman who told her that two-piece-swimsuits are banned: "Which piece do you want me to take off?"), politics ("Of course I'm interested in politics; no one should ignore the way some politicians dress!") and even the beauty of nature ("The sunrise is so beautiful that I always stay late at the nightclub to see it!"). The last Lilli cartoon appeared on January 5, 1961.)

What about the Bild Lilli doll?

(Lilli was available in the sizes 30 cm (12 inches) and 19 cm (7 and a half inches). She held three patents absolutely new in doll-making: The head wasn't connected to the neck but ended at the chin; the hair wasn't rooted but a cut-out scalp that was attached by a hidden metal screw; the legs didn't sprawl open when she was sitting. The doll was made of plastic and had molded eyelashes, pale skin and a painted face with side glancing eyes, high narrow eyebrows and red lips. Her fingernails were painted red, too. She wore her hair in a ponytail with one curl kissing the forehead. Her shoes and earrings were molded on. Her limbs were attached inside by coated rubber bands. The cartoon Lilli was blonde but a few of the dolls had other hair colours. Each Lilli doll carried a miniature Bild-Zeitung and was sold in a clear plastic tube.

In 1955 the tall dolls cost 12 Marks, the small 7.50 Marks. German office workers then had a monthly salary of approximately 200 to 300 Marks, so the doll was by no means a cheap toy. She was originally marketed to adults in bars and tobacco shops as a joke or gag gift. Many parents considered her not appropriate for children. Ariel Levy refers to her as a "sex doll" in Female Chauvinist Pigs. A German brochure from the 1950s states that Lilli was "always discreet," and that her wardrobe made her "the star of every bar." Although the doll was originally not designed as a children's toy, she eventually became popular with children. Doll houses, room settings, furniture, and other toy accessories to scale with the small Lilli were produced by German toy factories to cash in on her popularity amongst children and parents. Lilli and her fashions were sold as children's toys in a number of European countries, including Italy and Scandinavian states. Lilli was as high-profiled and successful as a toy as she was as an adult novelty, although outside of Germany she is mostly remembered in the latter guise.)

Fair Game

Okay, fair game. Monopoly isn't fair. Okay, yes I haven't been playing it often (Because I
have alot to do, ballet, facebook) But it IS pretty fun and VERY long. Above is a pic I took
and edited. That is kind of why I posted this post (It isn't really important) So today I sat
home and watched Gilmore Girls. And had some Nantucket Nectars Cranberry Cherry
juice. Yum. I can't believe the snow did not melt. Well, it did very little where I live. So,
anyway. Tata! PS. I might post some more stuff today if I do something later

Eeeeee snowing!!!! I can't believe it. I think it stopped where i live, but can't tell

(Too dark). Anyway, it is SO thick! (18/20/17 Inches of snow!) So, all i think about

is snow! So i hope i have alot of warm clothes this year. I'm wearing this very cute

Macaroons: Delight of the world!

I Love macaroons, they are so yummy! Some of them have vanilla or almond flavors, and
French color theirs (Pink and blue and purple and green and such) Anyway, i am in love!
I had some today, and they are pretty tiny (like three bites worth each macaroon) I love
that, too. So you can watch how much you eat. Anyway, just love it!

How did you find polyvore? did a friend suggest it, or did you find it yourself?

I found polyvore by googling "CANDY BUFFET" i was planing my candy party and was looking for info and then i saw these collages with candy, but i did not join poly right away. I did when again i was googling Betsey Johnson and saw more "sets" then i got curious and joined. and i love it so much, lol

Was it hard at the beginning, or was it a piece of cake?

Oh i loved it right away..especially figuring out how to use it. I was in here for 5 months when my sets started to get "noticed". I honestly thought that my sets were too "crazy" and not fit in...lol but i never compromised who i am to be liked or to have people come around. I remind myself this day i am still me. I think that is what makes my set be noticed.

When did you get popular?

I was five months into poly..this set was my first one to go on the popular section http://www.polyvore.com/strawberry_dreams/set?id=3953717 I still remember because i thought it was cool that people appreciated what came out of my head.lol

Did any of your friends get on polyvore?

No none of my Real life Pals know about poly, i kinda like to have something to myself, where i don't know people in real life, LOL

Did anyone HATE your sets?

Um at times i get people who HATE or make fake pages and write nasty comments on my sets. I block those people because it's a waste of time and i am not in polyvore for stuff like that. At times you find out it's someone who you know in here that made the fake page and did that to you. So it's pretty sad. Other then that, if people really hate my sets, they won't say it, LOL!

When did people start joining your groups?

um i have no idea, lol....at first it was small like 2oo people. Now i have 1,167 i think..it's growing and i think people join depending on the contest i have. Or people just love sweets like i do..*laughs*

When did you add your sets to your blog?

LOL funny question because for a while i could never figure out how to add sets to a BLOG, hahahahha until i asked a pal in here...I think that was about 7-9 months ago..i think, but i like to also feature other sets

Did you make new new friends on polyvore that you never met?

Yes i actually have a Good best guy friend who i meet in poly..he doesn't log in as much, but we keep in touch through email and IM...He is the best and a male version of me. And Also Engreida..love her She is a good pal, who i can trust. then MusicFanatic and Articangel. There are a few others who i would love to keep in touch if i ever stop coming to poly for whatever reasons....

did you have a fight with your polyvore friends?

NO i never got into a fight with a poly friend, but i have become friends with two people who i once had a disagreement with

Are you planning to leave or stay on polyvore?

um i plan on keeping up in POLY...i think this site is great for anyone who is into the fashion world or is thinking of a career in it! It's the best place to learn about trends, designers and keep updated on current fashion MUST HAVE"s....i don't follow trends myself, but i think it is important to know them if wanting to work in fashion. I will stay here in Poly as long as i can!❤✿ No plans on leaving.

Button-up shirts - the real button eye

The button-up shirt is a classic for all shirts. its so popular for women, but it didn't start with women. it first started with men. (like fur coats, pants, pink shirts, and more all from men first!) since the 1920's it was first showed by men. then at the 1940's women started to think these were chic, so started wearing them also. like destroyed jeans and trench coats, they have tips,
1. Make sure to NOT iron the buttons, they will melt onto the shirt. (if they don't still be careful)
2. Always make sure to buy a pair that was fitted, but also one half size bigger!
3. Do make sure to always get it fixed at a professional tailor's place. if you mend this yourself, it would show badly, and it will look cheap. be careful! (like always)
